Valentine’s Day Scorch-Fest

Returning every so often to the day’s theme of “love,” we brainstormed improvement for two websites:

1. A real estate photographer
2. A purveyor of hydraulic motors, hoses, fittings and stuff

We also learned a lot about Pinterest from Karen Tiede, who understands the DNA of Pinterest like nobody else and knows how to drive tons of qualified traffic using it. You can check out her service at

Here’s the webinar replay. Enjoy.

If you’re looking to improve the performance of your website, drop me a line at howard AT askhowie DOT com. My team at does amazing conversion rate optimization (industry jargon for “your website works better and makes more money”), and I am not a half-bad strategic positioning consultant.

Or, if you’d rather DIY it, check out the very excellent Landing Page Clinic and the even more excellent (and much more in-depth) Camp Checkmate Home Study Course.

Parked URL. In process of brainstorming and soul searching… that was such an amazing strategy to stimulate Kirk’s creativity. After he gets all that together, his clients could also enjoy a newsletter, hobbies, pets, thank you to seller & buyer -dinner, spa, choice. Welcome home gifts-flowers, wine, gifts for kids, neighborhood specials from local biz etc. women are great at warm fuzzies, hire an office gal. Follow up follow up. Survey… potential new customers-the buyer, the office gal Friday, the biz, even the neighbors in a welcome your new neighbor pizza party. Everybody loves parties… You even have me thinking how to add value to my biz… I got more out of this than I get from Perry, Frank, Glenn, Levis… they are sometimes way over my head… Do I really need adwords to start…

Thanks, Sussana, for your kind words. And on behalf of Kirk, thanks for your elegant brainstorming. I love how we all have so much to offer to each other at the same time as we can be struggling to figure out our own situation. It reminds me of a 1700-year-old Jewish story about heaven and hell:

Upon his death, a sainted rabbi is given the chance to tour Hell before ending up in Heaven, his final destination. Hell turns out to be an infinitely long dining room, the table piled with the most sumptious delicacies. But in Hell, nobody has elbow joints, so the diners starve in tormented anguish as they struggle in vain to lift the food to their mouths.

Next, the rabbi is taken to Heaven, which turns out to be an identical setup to Hell. Long banquet table, endless delicacies, no elbows. But here people are eating and talking and laughing and singing in delight. When the rabbi looks closer, he sees that in Heaven the residents are all feeding each other.

Thanks, Mandy, for your kind words. It’s certainly a huge world to be lost in. Keep coming back to yourself, and to those you want to serve. Everything else is details.
